HIS SOUL GOES MARCHING ON
I would like to create a little mystery about what I found in this very short 14,000 word book. I have no proof of its historical accuracy but there are enough names and dates contained in the book for a TR American Patriot member to use if someone wishes to verify that it is a true story. This book represents what would be a typical day in Theordore Roosevelt's life, so I believe the chances that this book is indeed historically accurate are high. In any event this is a marvelous short book.
It starts out as a fishing story and ends up as having Theodore Roosevelt on a battle field in World War One. The irony is that Theodore Roosevelt as much as begged President Wilson to let him fight in World War One and had 400,000 people willing to volunteer to fight along side of him. President Wilson refused his humble but passionate request to serve in the military. One of our other books covers the lengths that he went through to have President Wilson let him serve in the army. So the mystery is how does this book say that he was actually in the thick of the fighting as he truly wanted to be. After you read or listen to this book you will know how it is possible that Theodore Roosevelt made it to the battle field.
